Originally printed in 1991, this two-part book was updated in 2003 to provide an in-depth history of America's most famous motorcycle race. In Part One, the story begins before the first running of the 200-mile race in Daytona Beach in 1937. Author Don Emde, himself a former Daytona 200 winner and son of 1948 winner Floyd Emde, tells how the race evolved from the days of racing on the sand os Daytona Beach to the banks of the Daytona International Speedway.
